Are those magical floating legs rockin’ Nikes? Why yes, yes they are. “Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places” is the new solo installation and exhibition by London artist, INSA which opened Friday in London. It’s a collaboration with Nike Sportswear IAM1 for the launch of the new 2009 Air Max and it’s a collection of 35 hand painted pieces across East London done in 7 days. But I warn you, do not try this in Boston. The police here do not appreciate art in the form of spray painted stick figures with Supras on. Who knew?

It’s official; I know what I want for my birthday. Make it happen. This is the Ink Calendar by Oscar Diaz, which is basically the coolest calendar you’ve ever seen. It’s part of an exhibit showing in Spain and every day the ink fills up one day of the month and switches every month to a color that represents our perception of the weather for that month. I don’t normally believe in signs all that much, but if I did I think the fact that my birthday month is a lovely shade of purple would be a pretty glaring one. Not to mention the fact that this thing is pretty genius. That makes us a pretty perfect pair. It’s showing until October 11 at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, which is the perfect amount of time to come back and mount it in my room. East facing wall, please.

Who knew Mickey could be so hard? I don’t remember fearing Mickey’s gangsta during the ‘94 Family vacation. I guess it took the boys at Bloc 28 to bring out Mickey’s inner swagger. Because Bloc 28 is all about recreating the genius that is Mickey in new and ridiculous ways. Which is probably why I’m a little obsessed with David Flores and the rest of the crew. So if you happen to be in the vicinity of China, you should probably go check out the new exhibit that kicked off Thursday at Hong Kong’s Times Square shopping mall. And if you come back to me with a great story and no piece for my room, I’ll have to call on my inner Mickey. Remember that.
