San Francisco will always hold a place in my heart. I’ve always had a soft spot for California in general. Thought that it would be my home. Then I realized that I would probably die in a fiery earthquakey mudslide, so I decided that the East Coast was my future. But I must admit that this spot is making me rethink it a little. Remember that show where they let people loose in the supermarket with a shopping cart for like 2 minutes. All I’d need is 30 seconds…

sneakerlisting

Very rarely do I think this and openly say it. You did me proud facebook. I remember when you launched a young application where you could buy sneakers and add them to your imaginary online collection. Perfect for those less than engaging moments on the job. I feel like a proud mama bird watching you chew your own worm for the first time? Yeah…I don’t know much about avian life. My point is, SneakerListing is a free service allowing you to rummage the marketplace for the perfect pair of regular, limited edition or custom kicks with the rest of your sneaker obsessed brethren. I’m starting a slow clap. It recently launched so there are still some kinks to work out, but I have to say, this almost makes up for facebook letting high school students followed by the whole world on. Almost.

Like I needed another reason to want to creepily hug everyone in Hawaii. And those Pumas got me in the Waikiki mood! And even though these stores are located in Honolulu, I think I’ll survive. Kicks/Hi, founded in 2001 has a plethora of shoes that make me drool along with an overall aesthetic that turns me into a 13 year old bumping into the Senior captain of the football team. Supposedly the name represents “Kicks Hawaii,” but I’m pretty sure it’s just mocking my persona when walking into this place for a pair. “Kicks….hi…” (while waving awkwardly). I am that 13 year old.

Oh Nooka how I love thee, let me count the ways. And those of you who love me dearly should stop into the new Nooka pop-up shop taking residence in the East Village concept boutique, Den. Because it’s pretty ridiculous. And because I said so. The new installation titled, “Time. Scent. Space” will soon be retitled, “Jen’s. New. Apartment.” And I expect housewarming gifts that coincidentally can be purchased at my new apartment. I do my best to make it simple. The shop is chock full of fabulous watches, belts, toys, and its debut fragrance which as you assume is my essence trapped in a bottle. Don’t sleep on this event because I’ll be closing down the shop August 16th. See what I did there? Daily affirmations, son.

johnny velvet

Speaking of fabulous French things; a friend of mine was in Brussels, Belgium over the weekend making me jealous with frontline pictures of my new favorite place, Johnny Velvet. Because she is evil. Unless she has brought me back some shoes and perhaps a nice boy to make me waffles. Because then she is back in my good graces. I hear those waffles are delightful. If you’re ever in the area, Johnny Velvet is located at 1 rue de l’hopital. I think. If I’m wrong you’ll just be wandering around Belgium aimlessly, which would still make me quite jealous. And by “if” I mean that you should probably plan a trip around this place because it looks like the inside of my head. And yes, that’s a good thing.

And don’t even think about crawling into one of their dressing rooms and making a home for yourself like Natalie Portman in “Where the Heart Is.” The spot will already be très occupée by me. I’m just killing you with the French, aren’t I?
